Orlando Florida Vacation Guide
Orlando
is known as the #1 tourist destination in the world. The reason
for this is the seemingly interminable number of attractions and hotels,
with no end in sight.
It used to be that in a week you could see everything there was to see. Nowadays every attraction claims you need that time just to see them. The biggest and most popular by far is Walt Disney World.
The first phase of this entertainment world was the Magic Kingdom which opened on October 1st, 1971 to instant success. It comprises smaller theme areas that surround the center piece of the park, Cinderella’s Castle.
The five themed areas are Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Liberty Square, Frontierland and Adventureland. In front of the castle is Main Street where most of the stores are located, as well as it being the way in and out of the park.
The second phase to open was Epcot. Epcot is divided into two lands. Future World and World Showcase. It is in effect a permanent World’s Fair.
The third to open was Disney's Hollywood Studios (formerly known as Disney MGM Studios), a working and real film and television studio where all of the attractions are movie and television-based.
The last to open is Animal Kingdom, a collection of wild animals presented in an enjoyable way combined with the Disney artistry for entertaining attractions.
The second biggest attraction in Orlando is Universal Studios which also have a second theme park, Islands of Adventure. Both parks are very heavily influenced by movies and television but are a totally different style as in Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Also, there are two wonderful attractions that deal with pure natural beauty. Sea World, featuring marine life in set shows and in natural habitats and Busch Gardens. It features wild animals in natural settings. It also features some of the best rollercoaster rides.
In addition to these there are countless of smaller attractions that you can view in an hour or less, like Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum, Guiness Book of Records Museum, Wonder Works and dozen of others.
The fun doesn’t stop when the parks close. There’s Downtown Disney and CityWalk. On both of these you will find dance clubs, specialty stores and a wide variety of restaurants.
If you like a dinner show, you’ve come to the right place. Enjoy dinner shows like Makahiki Luau Dinner Show at Sea World, Arabian Nights, Pirates Dinner Adventure, Medieval Times, Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner Show, and Capone’s.
So come to Orlando where you will find it all!
