Video arcade fans will find them themselves in a gamer’s paradise in a number of places throughout Orlando. From Old School video games (yes, you can still play Pac Man and Space Invaders if you want to) to the latest in video simulations, Orlando has it all.
While most resort hotels have a game room–the Nickelodeon Suites has one of the most extensive hotel arcades in town–there are several stand-alone arcades that are destinations in and of themselves, such as the DisneyQuest indoor interactive theme park at Downtown Disney, which is the largest arcade in town. There are a total of five floors filled with simulators, high end video games, and animation lessons, plus pinball games, Ice Ball and air hockey for those who crave more traditional arcade games.
With the arrival of Dave and Buster’s on International Drive, gamers can load up on tickets that can be redeemed in the D&B gift shop. In addition to being a full service sports bar and restaurant, Dave and Buster’s has the latest in electronic games of chance, video games, skee ball, and much more.
And if you are looking for an arcade that offers a full meal deal but want to save on the expense of a sit-down restaurant, the McDonalds with the largest indoor PlayPlace is located on the corner of Sand Lake Road and International Drive. Think of it as a Chuck-E-Cheese on steroids, with a greater variety of food. This McDonald’s has a special Bistro menu, with pastas, pizzas and salads in addition to the traditional burger fare.
With so many arcades to choose from, gamers will have no problem finding things to do and games to play throughout Orlando. Fortunately, plastic cards have replaced coins and tokens, so there is no need to dig for quarters at any of these locations.
