Hotel Interview by Orlandoescape and Helena Martin Internet Manager for Seralago Hotel & Suites Main Gate East

1. What’s the main reason people visit your property?
Location, Location, Location! We are centrally located to all that the Kissimmee and Orlando areas have to offer. Whether it be theme parks, dining, sports or shopping, the Seralago is convenient to it all. We are just 3 miles to the gates of Disney and offer a free daily scheduled shuttle. We also offer a free daily scheduled shuttle to Universal, as well. Conveniently located on the Lynx Bus public transportation line, we have a stop right in front of our hotel.

2. What’s the main reason you think people SHOULD be visiting your property?
Our Value can’t be beat! We offer the BEST rates in the area and never any extra charges like most other hotels. Our oversized rooms with microwave and mini-refrigerator plus all the FREE amenities we provide: shuttles, wireless Internet, and family movies in our theater. We are also proud of the many specials and promotions we have available to our guests. Our guests know by signing up for our mailing list and becoming a fan on Facebook, they get access to specials not found on our website or online travel sites. We not only provide discounts for AAA and AARP members, but also Military personnel, Single Parents, Florida Residents, Grandparents, Kids and Seniors. We’ll also help our guests celebrate birthdays with a special rate and all the fun that goes along with having a birthday!

3. If you had to recommend to a guest one unmissable thing to do at your hotel what would it be?
Relax at one of our two heated pools! With all the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, it’s nice to take a day to just relax by the pool and “recharge your battery”. The Seralago Hotel & Suites has two heated pools and spas and a kiddie pool for those not quite ready for the “big pool”. For the convenience of our guests, we also have the Tropical Treasures Pool Bar and Shop which is open seasonally.

4. If they had a whole day in town what would you recommend they do?
Deciding what to do in the Kissimmee/Orlando area is never an easy decision, because there is so much! It also depends if you have younger or older children, or just adults. Are you looking for a quiet or busy time? Are you looking for something indoors? Have you done the theme parks? If you have just one day, you can’t go wrong visiting one of these great attractions: Magic Kingdom (or any of the Walt Disney World Parks), the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal, or SeaWorld, and end your day with any of the fun dinner shows.

5. What if they had three days?
With three days, you can’t go wrong visiting DisneyQuest, WonderWorks, Orlando Science Center, Kennedy Space Center, or Leu Gardens. Discovery Cove is a great option for guests who love the water and want to swim with dolphins and rays. The many water parks are also great fun, but please remember sunscreen! And located right next door to the Seralago Hotel & Suites is Old Town and FunSpot USA. Our guests enjoy the many carnival-type rides, go-carts and shops all just walking distance from our hotel. New to Florida, is Legoland in Winter Haven, located about 45 minutes from the Seralago.

6. What is your favorite place to dine that you would recommend to your guest?
Right down the street in Celebration! You have to visit the Celebration Town Tavern – The Turkey Stacker is the best (Thanksgiving dinner wrapped up in an open face sandwich). Also in Celebration is Columbia Restaurant. If they would want something truly local and like BBQ – Fat Boys Bar-B-Q in Kissimmee is another favorite.

7. What local restaurants would visitors be fools not to try while they’re in Orlando?
Any of the many restaurants located in Celebration. There is Celebration Town Tavern, Columbia Restaurant, Antonios, Thai Tani, and Seito Sushi.

8. What local attraction would visitors be fools not to visit while they’re in Orlando?
There are many attractions not to be missed liked Gatorland, FunSpot USA, Old Town and WonderWorks. But of course, if you are visiting around the winter holidays, there’s always Santa’s favorite – The Seralago! Did you know that Santa comes to the Seralago to rest before he makes his big trip?! Peak at Santa resting in his room, and write him a letter. We bet he writes back.

9. Describe your hotels philosophy when it comes to guest service in the hospitality industry.
We always serve our guests with a smile, go beyond the call of duty and always try to exceed their expectations. When it comes to guest service, the Seralago is proud to say that our staff is committed to giving our guests the very best experience possible. We know our guests work hard to afford their vacation and have many choices in the area. We encourage our guests to provide us with feedback about their stay so that we can make future stays even better.

10. What should your guest expect upon their arrival?
When guests arrive at The Seralago Hotel & Suites they are met with a warm greeting. Our Front Desk Agents are happy to welcome guests and get them settled after their journey. Our guests can expect clean and comfortable accommodations with all the amenities they expect. Our guests are given information about our hotel and the area and always treated like family.

11. Why should guests stay at your hotel?
It’s all right here! Service, Value and Amenities. We offer the best value for the money, in the area. There are not many places that can boast about employees with over 20 years of service. So when you return, you will see the same friendly faces here at the hotel waiting to welcome you back. When you return to the Seralago, it’s like coming back home to familiar faces.

12. Would you like to add any other points about your hotel?
The Seralago Hotel & Suites offers a great location, with great staff, and lots of things to do within walking distance. Our staff loves to have fun and we love to share the fun with our guests. During Easter, we have a huge egg hunt. The summer brings our summer fun treats – ice pops, special days like gummy bear, chocolate pudding, and hot dogs, water fun, and more all summer long. At Halloween each department decorates pumpkins and our guests get to vote for the winner. During December our special guest that stays with us is Santa, plus we do all kinds of other fun activities from our department tree decorating contest (again the guests vote for the winner), to lobby activities for the kids, pictures with Edith the Elf and more!
