A major new attraction has officially arrived in Orlando, and it is already generating excitement among theme park fans and families planning their summer vacations. SeaWorld Orlando has officially opened Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice to the public on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25 at 2 p.m., introducing guests to one of the park’s most ambitious immersive experiences to date.
The all-new Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice takes visitors deep into the Arctic through a cinematic, story-driven adventure that combines advanced ride technology, immersive environments and breathtaking visuals. Designed to blur the line between simulation and reality, the attraction places guests directly into the middle of powerful natural forces that define one of the planet’s most extreme environments.

According to SeaWorld Orlando, the attraction was created to fully transport guests into an unforgettable Arctic mission filled with volcanic eruptions, icy waters, frozen landscapes and encounters with some of the world’s most incredible wildlife.
Guests embarking on Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice begin their journey inside a newly transformed Arctic research station. The themed environment includes mission control areas, detailed expedition spaces and a pre-launch briefing led by a research scientist preparing visitors for the mission ahead. From the moment the experience begins, guests are immersed in a world inspired by exploration, science and the natural beauty of the Arctic.
Once onboard, riders soar above erupting volcanoes, glide across massive frozen terrain and dive beneath icy waters while encountering animals including beluga whales, sperm whales, seals and polar bears. The attraction combines high-definition cinematic storytelling with SeaWorld Orlando’s state-of-the-art motion ride system to create a realistic sense of movement and adventure.
Justin Newton, senior vice president of project delivery for United Parks & Resorts, described Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice as one of the company’s most immersive attractions ever created.
“Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice is one of the most ambitious and immersive attractions we have ever created,” Newton said. “From the moment guests step inside the Arctic research station, every detail has been designed to fully transport them into this frozen world and leave them questioning how it was even possible.”
Beyond the thrills, the attraction also reflects SeaWorld Orlando’s ongoing effort to combine family entertainment with educational storytelling and environmental awareness. Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice highlights the beauty of the Arctic while encouraging guests to appreciate the wildlife and ecosystems that exist in some of the world’s harshest climates.

The opening comes at a key time for Orlando tourism as visitors continue searching for new experiences across Central Florida’s major theme parks ahead of the busy summer travel season. With immersive attractions continuing to drive attendance across the industry, Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice positions SeaWorld Orlando as a major destination for travelers looking for something new during their Orlando vacations.
The attraction also launches alongside SeaWorld Orlando’s expanded summer entertainment lineup. Beginning June 12, the park will once again bring back Electric Ocean, the nighttime summer celebration featuring high-energy entertainment, family-friendly dance parties, live performances and a new drone and fireworks spectacular designed to light up the night sky above the park.
Visitors this summer can also experience SeaWorld Orlando’s lineup of world-class roller coasters, animal presentations, up-close wildlife encounters and seasonal culinary offerings available throughout the park.
For guests planning upcoming visits, SeaWorld Orlando is currently offering limited-time Memorial Day savings with discounts of up to 55 percent on tickets, Fun Cards and Annual Passes. The park is also encouraging visitors to consider Annual Pass Memberships, which include benefits such as unlimited admission, free parking, discounts on food and merchandise, monthly rewards and early access opportunities for select experiences.
As Orlando continues to add new attractions and experiences in 2026, Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice is already emerging as one of the latest major additions drawing attention across the region’s tourism industry.
