Some of the events during the festivities include an opening night black-tip optional gala and tree lighting, Breakfast with Santa, a Reindeer Romp Part for children, and the special family weekend focus that highlights an ugly sweater red carpet walk and competition.

The Festival of Trees is one of the events by the Council of 101 that allows the organization to donate up to $13 million since it was established back in 1965.
