Three restaurants are going to undergo upgrades in the coming weeks – Tusker House Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at EPCOT.

These favorite food spots offer a selection of unique dining experiences and delectable cuisines that exposes your tastebuds to different cultures around the globe.

Tusker House Restaurant

Starting November 1, Tusker House Restaurant will transition to a buffet-style dining experience. It simply means you can grab all the food you can handle. The must-visit spot nestled in the Harambe Marketplace offers a menu packed with African-inspired flavors.




Choose from an array of dishes that can captivate your tastebuds from breakfast to dinner. You can jumpstart the morning at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park with flavorful plates, including an array of pastries such as the Zebra Coffee Cake, breakfast classics such as Simba Waffles and Mickey Waffles together with a variety of breakfast meats.

For lunch and dinner, you can indulge in a selection of bread and dips, house specialties such as the Spit-roasted Tandoori Chicken and Green Curry Shrimp, plus plant-based options such as Cauliflower Bunny Chow and other salads. There are also classics for the young ones such as corn dog nuggets and macaroni and cheese, to name a few. Additionally, you have an array of desserts to choose from to complete your meal.

Kona Cafe

At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Kona Cafe will open its doors again after a recent refurbishment. On November 1, don’t miss out on a fresh dining experience. Expect a different feel, look, and flavors in the relaxed café, but still familiar. Kona Cafe will feature American cuisine with an Asian flare that makes it unique while you can watch the chefs in action in the onstage sushi kitchen.

Some of the breakfast favorites on the menu you should try is the Tonga Toast and Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes during breakfast. Make sure you’ll keep an eye out for other items returning to the menu such as the Big Kahuna Burger and Seafood Pu Pu Platter and the latest plant-based offering for dinner, the Sautéed Red Quinoa.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

You shouldn’t also miss out on the feast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall which will open its doors on November 4. Grab the chance to go on an unforgettable dining experience at the Norway pavilion in the World Showcase at EPCOT to enjoy the flavors of Norwegian cuisine.

Expect several plates at this royal feast, whether you want to indulge in your favorites or try out something new. The family-style dining experience will give you the chance to try out the Traditional KjØttkaker featuring Norwegian meatballs or the Kylling og Melboller, a Norwegian version of chicken and dumplings. If you’re looking for a more classic American cuisine, you can try out the Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Grilled Salmon, and Macaroni & Cheese. Your meals aren’t complete with the right dessert such as the Rice Cream with strawberry sauce and a Chocolate Roulade with lingonberry cream.

Aside from the delectable menu, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is special since it’s home to a unique Storybook Dining that features Disney princesses. While indulging in the Norwegian-inspired fare, you can interact, take photos, and create memories with the Disney princesses.

If you want to make your dining experience hassle-free, you can make reservations ahead of time. Now, reservations are available for both Tusker House Restaurant and Kona Cafe. As for Akershus Royal Banquet Halls, reservations will be opening starting October 24.
